The Archive Collective

Authenticity Policy

The Archive Collective seeks to source authentic pieces and applies a verification process appropriate to each product and brand before fulfillment.

Our Approach

The exact item being considered for acquisition is reviewed before fulfillment. The scope and method of review may vary based on the brand, category, age, materials, documentation, and characteristics of the piece.

Review and Verification

As appropriate, verification may include examination of construction, materials, stitching, hardware, tags, labels, markings, typography, dimensions, product-specific details, provenance, seller or source information, and comparison with known brand characteristics. We may request additional photographs or information and may use qualified third-party expertise when appropriate.

Exact-Item Assessment

Archive images on the website may be reference images. Authentication and condition review concern the exact physical item located for a customer, not only the displayed reference. Relevant exact-item photographs and details are provided through the Inspection Set before customer approval and payment.

Limits and Continued Development

Authentication is an informed assessment based on the information and methods reasonably available for the item. We do not make an unsupported absolute guarantee. If we cannot reach an appropriate level of confidence, we may decline to proceed with the acquisition.

Our procedures may evolve as the business develops, including through additional tools, records, specialists, or product-specific review standards.

Questions or Concerns

Questions about the review of an exact item should be raised before approval. Post-delivery concerns may be submitted through our Contact page for review under applicable law and our policies.
